Events leading up to the Day of the LORD

Matching Themes between the book of Revelation and the Synoptic Gospels from the opening of the 7 Seals to the 7 Trumpets

-- Part 3 --

This study offers an overview of the events surrounding the opening of the Seven Seals with a continuing focus on the pattern of tribulation, then rescue then wrath. Without jumping out of context, the parallel passages in the chart below will bear witness to each other while following matching themes in the same order of progression. The ideal study would be with a number of people and Bibles open to Revelation, Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc.  Study left to right across the first row then drop down to the next row, study left to right and repeat. For a deeper understanding, the immediate context and *corresponding text from the whole Bible needs to be studied as well. For the extremely diligent, the grammatical/historical context needs to be considered. But not to scare you away :-) ... If you start with this abbreviated study, it should serve as a door opener for your understanding of this very important prophetic puzzle.

*The phrase "Day of the LORD" appears 26 times explicitly throughout the Bible (depending on the translation). Since the time of creation it has been a focal point of God's intentions. It is a day of darkness and devastating wrath of God against the unrighteous and near-simultaneous rescue for the righteous when Jesus Christ arrives to consolidate His kingdom on earth. It comes into a sharper focus during a deep study of the seven seals and is further illustrated from Genesis to Revelation with many types and shadows.

As these parallels continue to stack up between many Bible passages,
the question must be asked once again: "why do all these Bible passages
harmonize with each other both in content and in matching order of events?"

The vivid and earth-changing upheavals foretold with much symbolic language in the book of Revelation can make it a hard puzzle to solve but as with any hard puzzle if one starts with the pieces that are an obvious fit, the rest of the pieces will start falling into place. Among the most obvious pieces to fit are the celestial signs (sun and moon go dark and stars fall from the sky) that come into sharp focus between the sixth and seventh seal of Revelation and share many corresponding  parallels - especially from the book of Daniel at the mid-point of the 70th. week. Compare Daniel 9:27 with Matthew 24:15-31 and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4  where the abomination of desolation and celestial signs announce the imminent arrival of Jesus back to earth in order to rescue His elect
and begin pouring out His wrath on the ungodly. For a detailed teaching on this, see Jacob Prasch's 7 part Youtube series: "Understanding and interpreting The Apoclypse"  and pray the Holy Spirit will open your understanding.  Of course, some of the Revelation prophecies are yet to be unveiled but for those who are watching and waiting, the Day of the LORD  will be seen in due time.
